To dare a dream and to dare pursue it requires immense amount of bravery. Just imagine your biggest dream is not be separated from your family. The thought of losing your loved ones will make you do things that are your nightmare. Here is the story of a 6 year old girl who bravely fought for her loved ones earned love from all the people around.
Sophie Cruz a young immigrant activist stunned thousands of people with her stirring speech of love and hope at the women’s march on Washington. This young little girl broke to the security and headed to the pope to give a heart melting letter, in that letter she begged for help for her undocumented parents. The pope then stopped the parade to give her a blessing and a hug.
“Pope Francis, I want to tell you that my heart is very sad, because I’m scared that one day ICE is going to deport my parents. Don’t forget about us the children, or about those who suffer because they’re not with their parents because of war, because of violence, because of hunger.”
She fought for her rights and said that she deserves the rights to be with parents, she deserves a right to be happy. That young voice truly inspired people and soon she met the president during that period which was Obama and she also met with Joe Biden. She became the face of people who suffered as like her and she put forward a heart wrenching question to the presidential debate.

If she were frightened to speak what she felt she wouldn’t have been in a place where she is now. Most of the time when we speak back against what we feel is not right, we are often told to shut up, “shut up you aren’t allowed to speak back to elders” this is where we are stopping people from growing. Why shouldn’t we say our point of view when it comes to any issue?
You have the rights to speak so does a 6 year old child and so does an 80 year old grandma. Speak up for yourself that is the beginning step towards achieving something great. Speak up for yourself so you can speak up for the world in future. Speak up for yourself because no one will unless the change is made.
